Green Water Apple Plants

Water apple is an evergreen fruit tree belonging to the family Myrtaceae. It is native to the Indo-Malayan region, including India, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia.

The water apple tree grows to 15 m (50 ft) tall, with a spreading crown. The bark is dark brown and the leaves are glossy green, elliptical, and 5–12 cm (2–5 in) long. The flowers are white, 5-petaled, and borne in clusters. The fruit is round or oval, 5–7 cm (2–3 in) in diameter, with a smooth, hard, greenish-yellow or pinkish-yellow skin. The flesh is white, crisp, and juicy, with a sweet-sour taste.

Water apple is cultivated throughout the tropics for its fruit. It is also grown as an ornamental tree.

The water apple tree is propagated by seed or air layering.

Water apples are rich in vitamins A and C. They are eaten fresh or used in salads, desserts, and drinks.

The tree is also grown for its wood, which is used for construction, furniture, and fuel.
